Mohamed Salah Offers Regret to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also implied that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not intended to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.”
